So many awesome cars today. Kits cars, dune buggys, many Porsches, 4 BMW i8, several Aston Martin, a bunch of Ferrari, many Mini old or new, Lotus, MB, MG , TRs, Jags, Audi, VW, Fiat, etc . Such a nice turnout by all ages of the VWs.

An amazing day for sure. The weather held out and it didn’t rain until the GTG was almost over. A lot of great cars and proud owners turned out for a day of sunshine that included German food , beer, 50/50 raffles and music. A charity event with 100% of proceeds going to local Veterans. Such a great cause.

I know I didn’t get a picture of every car. Such a big turnout and a few people moved cars about in the lot. Sorry I didn’t get pictures of the BMW motorcycles, the Japanese or Domestic cars that showed to a charity Euro-Car event but I was getting beat down by the heat and humidity. Maybe next year.

The interior was crazy, but seats were fine even with the colored centers with nice 911T sewn into head rest. The orange metallic accents were really a bit much but the owner was a blast to talk to.

Haha, was nice to be around the VW crowd that knew what it was and what my tasteful mods had accomplished. About 270 at crank is all. Future plans will put it about 295.

We love ours. One of 111 imported to the US in white for 2006. Ours is also pushing 270 at the crank, thanks to a Unitronic tune and Neuspeed cold air intake. Future plans include a Milltek exhaust, and various suspension modifications.

Most people don’t really know that these exist, even some VW guys. Well, that’s a logical thought process considering Audi sold about 13 of them. What year is yours?

Its a 2008 which was the high volume year when they made from what Audi told me 725 for the world. I have a list of production numbers on my home computer with paint color numbers for most years. They must have gotten a deal on the Lava Grey paint because 425 were in that color for 08. I have the Unitronic stage 1+ with Pipercross air filter.

Whiteline rear sway and Superpro trans dogbone insert on the car. In boxes in garage are Powerflex front sway bushings, Audi S3 rear front arm bushings, Whiteline rear trailing arm bushings, Apikol caliper adapters and Porsche Boxster Brembos. Those pieces start going in when the hot weather breaks. Looking a something to tweak camber about 2-3 degrees after that stuff. Instead of exhaust I’m planning just high flow cats.

We’re considering Porsche brakes when it comes replacement time, they’re generally inexpensive and really good, and that’s appealing. Also, the Unitronic DSG tune may be in order later this year.

I can’t say that I’ve ever conversed with anyone else that has an A3 3.2 before. They’re very unique cars, and I am glad to have one. Plus, the Quattro (well, Quattro light) makes for a great time in the yearly ice storms that we have in NC.

Oh, and my mother is also from an hour south of Cleveland, and we’re up there all the time.

I’m in the Akron area and originally from coastal NC. This is the 4th Audi in our immediate family. They have been a blessing for driving down anytime of the year to NC and not having a worry if its snow and ice on the way. With snow tires they are a tank regardless of if its a Haldex or Torsen systems. The earlier cars were B5 and newest a B8.

I’ve talked to a few people with them or its closest relatives the Audi TT 3.2 and the Golf R32. I was sold on finding one after a friend at Coventry Motorcar in CT told me how much he liked one he had. Took me a while to find one but it was worth every bit of effort. Had 3 bought out from places before I could get there. One that was in Cleveland was at a dealership on a Friday afternoon closing and in the 30 minutes before I arrived in the morning somebody else came in with a deposit. Ten days later after I made the deal on mine coming out of Chicago that Cleveland dealership called to see if I wanted it still because the deal fell through. Mine was already on a carrier headed my way.

Looks like you and my mother switched places. She started in Mansfield, OH and is now in Central NC. We used to drive to Ohio every year, but since Frontier Airlines has started doing really cheap fares to Cleveland, we have started doing that.

We got lucky with our A3. We were just browsing the local Audi lot, when I spotted this little white hatch. 92,000 miles, one owner, every service done at that Audi dealer (actually, just by two techs since new), and it was about $1,500 under market. We knew how rare this opportunity would be, especially as it is a white example, and we took it. Other than the rear diff going out (was covered under warranty), it’s been extremely reliable.

Crazy in the trading places stuff. I go past Mansfield about twice a month heading to Columbus.

The not getting the Cleveland , Hunt Valley MD or Indianoplis A3's worked out well for me. I found the Chicago one with only 24K miles. At 36k now.

Well, Ashland to be specific.

But 24,000 miles? That’s insane! We got ours with 92,000 miles and we thought that we were lucky, but 24,000 is outright impressive.

Was listed on Autotrader, Cars.com and eBay when I found it and was lowest mileage one in the US for $20.5k. Damn near new for about half retail!

BTW, the white one of yours looks great. Best colors for these seem to be Red , White , Lava, or Black in that order. I might go to piano black grille trim to improve the front look on the darker paint. The chrome looks fine on the white or red ones.

Considering the mileage, $20,500 isn’t bad at all. And thanks, I’m really not sure why more people didn’t order white. I think it looks great. We might make the wheels a few shades darker, and it might get a piano black grille too. It is an S-Line car, so we don’t want to modify it too much.

ALL 3.2 for US were S-Line. Not sure about Europe, Japan & Australia which is where most of the others went. There were some other options like Navigation, backup camera/sensors , other wheels/tires, winter package, Titanium package, open sky roof, bluetooth, Bi-xenon lamps etc.

here is what 2008 had

Our car is optioned out other than navigation, which is fine with us as 2006 MMI was absolutely terrible. And the cassette player rocks for sure. Do you know where I could find the 20o6 pricing chart?

Thank you, very helpful.

This chart proves that our A3 had an MSRP of $39,800 back in 2006. With inflation, it would cost $47,586 in 2016. That’s wild.

Whats funny is people were building those old VW based replicas of Bugatti before the company was revived in the 80's. It kept the name alive and its amazing that the present parent company is now VW, so all in all not a bad thing.
